Qatar sells 1.2 million World Cup tickets
1.2 million tickets have been sold for the FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar. About 1.2 million tickets for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar have been sold so far, said Hassan al-Thawadi, secretary general of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC).
The second ticket sale phase, which lasted till the end of April, had received over 2.3 million applications. According to FIFA, Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Mexico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United States have the highest demand.
Emphasizing that the World Cup is open to all, Thawadi highlighted the importance of the World Cup for the first time in the Middle East and the Arab world as a gateway for fans to see Arab hospitality and enjoy Qatari culture.
