Actor Bhuvan KC from Unnat Loktantrik Party is set to become the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. A meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Unnat Loktantrik Party chaired by Swagat Nepal on Tuesday decided to elect him as the mayor in the local level election to be held on April 12.
KC said that the party believes in guaranteeing social justice by giving proper justice to the people of the metropolis on the issues of urban poverty, management of Derawal and domestic violence. Similarly, Unnat Loktantrik Party has also decided to field Reshma Lama in Kathmandu.
The number of candidates announcing their candidacies for the local elections scheduled for April 12 has increased. Earlier, rapper Balen Shah had also announced his candidature for the post of mayor of Kathmandu. Actor Bhuvan KC is set to become the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
