Jayanagar-Kurtha train: Fill all the seats on the first day

Locals are excited after the regular operation of Jayanagar-Kurtha train service. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the train service from New Delhi, India. The train, which left at 8.30 am on Sunday, reached Janakpur station at around 10.15 am.

General Manager of Nepal Railway Company Niranjan Jha said that the train from Jayanagar to Kurtha and from Kurtha to Jayanagar on the first day was full of passengers in both ordinary and AC directions. He said that regular trains have started running as per the schedule.

Residents of Dhanusha, who have been seeing the train running for a long time, are shocked to see the regular running train. Sanjay Jha, a local youth, hopes that the situation in Janakpur and surrounding areas will change in the next few years when the train starts running regularly.

He is confident that tourism, religious sector will be developed and export of local products will increase with the commencement of railway service. “It simply came to our notice then. Residents of Janakpur had been excited for a few days after hearing rumors of regular operation of the train.
